The Fight for Migrant Rights at Sakuma Farms

Attention everyone – this is important.

You may or may not know that Sakuma Farms has recently cut off its negotiations with striking migrant workers. As one of the primary victims of industrial civilization, these men and women need our support; the mistreatment of agricultural workers lies at the intersection of multiple disgusting power structures, including but not limited to the economic exploitation of the indigenous, violence against women, and ecological devastation. Securing the rights and safety of migrant workers is central to the fight against the corporate system.

I am planning on going down to their action camp outside of Burlington tomorrow before or after work to discuss what I can do to show support and solidarity. I would very much appreciate any support in the matter. Please do let me know if you’d be interested. Unless they are forcibly evicted from their camp, striking workers will still be around this weekend, when I plan to go again. Please let me know if you would be interested in coming with me to show solidarity or helping to purchase toilet paper, water, and other essentials for the camp. Thank you.
