Anniversary of John Brown’s execution

Today is the day John Brown was executed for his efforts to arm enslaved Africans and lead an uprising against white slavers.

Remember his final words: “I, John Brown, am now quite certain that the crimes of this guilty land can never be purged away but with blood. I had as I now think, vainly flattered myself that without very much bloodshed, it might be done.”

John Brown was right.
